Q:Is the Anderson 3000 Series 36x80" an energy star rated door? Asking because if it is, it could be added to the IRS Form 5695 for a tax credit. I installed my door last spring and can't remember if it had an energy star sticker on it.

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your inquiry about the 3000 Series Storm Door. Currently, storm doors are not included in EPA’s ENERGY STAR® Windows Program as there is not a procedure or standard to rate storm doors at this time. Please keep in mind that adding a storm door may help increase the entryway insulating capabilities and provide an added barrier to the elements. If you have more questions about ENERGY STAR®, please visit energystar.gov. - Laine

A: Thank you for your question. For an Andersen 3000 Series Self-Storing Storm Door, the lever handle can be lifted up. This will not affect the operation of the handle. Also, you will need to lift the handle to properly remove/reinstall the screen assembly, center mullion, top and bottom window. - Jay

A: Thank you for your inquiry. We are sorry, however, we do not have a metal center mullion replacement. Please be informed that warping of vinyl pieces such as the screen track and center mullion is caused by heat build-up between the main entry door and the storm door. Once replaced, we can reduce the heat build-up by trying the troubleshooting steps on this link: https://helpcenter.andersenwindows.com/stormdoor/s/article/Reducing-Air-or-Heat-Build-Up-Between-Storm-Door-and-Entry-Door - Laine
