White Wash Pickling is considered a white stain color; however, since this is a transparent coating, the color of the wood will affect the final color of the stain. You can also control the color with the number of coats you apply and by how long you leave on the excess stain before wiping it off. Enjoy the rest of your day! -Christina

The Pecan Water-Based Stain, and The Pecan Stain & Poly In One, are very similar in color, but they will look slightly different because of the addition of the polyurethane. A:  Hi Jhpl, thank you for your question. The Water-Based Wood Stain has a 3-year shelf-life unopened. Once opened or after the three years, you'll want to do a stir test to see if it can still be used. After stirring for a few minutes, if you do not notice clumps or a foul smell, you can go ahead and use. Have a great day! -Giovanna

A:  Hi there, thanks for the question. A top coat can be applied after approximately 1 hour. Lower temperatures and higher humidity can add to the dry time. You also want to use a water-based product as your topcoat. Have a great day! -Ronald

Keep in mind that the final outcome of the color will be unpredictable. If that doesn't work, I'd recommend reapplying the stain and reapplying with a different color.
