A:  I mixed it with half water and applied with a pad to a thoroughly sanded floor before poly. Worked great.

Surfaces that will be in direct contact with food require a coating approved by the FDA for such use. In that case, I recommend reaching out to your local Home Depot for more information regarding a food-safe coating that will work for your project. -Lina

Although our Fast-Drying Interior Wood Stain is a great choice for wood, we don't recommend using it in areas where it may come in contact with food because our products aren't recommended for direct food contact.
