A:  Hi Robert, thanks for the question. It can be difficult to match an existing stain to patch it and repair it. I'd recommend looking at our color card and choosing the color that comes the closest and try and patch the area. If you can't find a stain that is a close enough match, you would want to remove the existing stain by either sanding the dresser or using a stain stripper to remove the coating and then applying the stain color of your choice. A:  Hi HomeDoer. Thanks for your question. After sanding and using the pre-stain wood conditioner, only one coat of our Water-Based Fast Drying Wood Stain is required. However, an additional coat can be applied after 1 hour to darken the color if preferred. Good luck with your project! -Joni

Additionally, water exposure, food stains, cleaning, hot pans, etc., will lead to reduced durability of the paint and an unsatisfactory surface.
