A:  Hi Patty, thank you for your question. As it turns out, we don't recommend using decorative flakes on top of the Semi-Transparent Decorative Concrete Stain. To completely cover this, it's best to apply the Solid Color Concrete Stain once the surface has been primed using the Concrete Bonding Primer No. 880. Have a great day! - Randy

To give the stain a more uniform look, I'd recommend applying the stain with a pump sprayer and then rolling back over the area with a lightly saturated 3-8" nap roller. A:  Hi Randy, thanks for the question. If the mantle already has a coating, I wouldn't recommend using the Semi-Transparent Decorative Concrete Stain. The semi-transparent stain should only be used on uncoated surfaces. One suggestion is to use our Solid-Color Concrete Stain instead.
