Q:We used textured deck over 8 years ago on our 20 year old composite deck. Still holding up very well but want to freshen it. The texture is quite pronounced. My question is… for ease, can we use the smooth deckover this time vs textured?

A:  Hi Carol, thanks for the question. You can apply the Smooth Deckover this time over the textured Deckover. Also, if you're just needing to refresh the color, you could also use out Solid-Color Waterproofing Stain & Sealer.         Q:Used Restore sand pain on deck approx 10 yrs ago. Have some peeling and alot of mildew. Can I paint over it if pressure washed first?

        A:  Hi Donna, thanks for the question. Our Advanced Deckover can be applied over water-based coatings. I'd recommend reaching out to the manufacture of the product you used to see if a water-based coating can be applied over it. If it can, then I'd suggest removing the mold and mildew and cleaning the surface with our All-In-One Cleaner before applying the coating.             A:  Hi CMiller, thank you for your question. Our DeckOver can be used on a new wood surface. Please note that if you're working with pressure treated wood, we recommend allowing the wood to dry for 6-8 weeks before coating to ensure it is completely dry. Have a great day! -Lina

              Q:Is Behr Deckover a clear acrylic paint base and then tint is added to obtain your color? My husband has our deck ready to be painted but he wants it to look stained. I told him paint is probably white when can is opened.

              A:  Hi Smith, thanks for the question. Our Advanced Deckover comes un-tinted and has to have tint added to it prior to use. If you are concerned with covering up the grain of the wood, I'd suggest checking out our transparent and semi-transparent wood stains.
