      Q:I have a cedar shake roof I"d like to coat in a blue color and thinking of using Behr DeckOver. Ideally the shake shingles would expand when wet and and contract when dry. What Behr products are recommended if not DeckOver?

      A:  Hi Tony, thank you for your question. As it turns out, the Advanced Deckover isn't recommended for roofs. Instead, we recommend using our Multi-Surface Roof Paint, which can be applied to shake shingles. Have a great day! - Randy

            Q:I am using Advanced Deck Over to paint the wooden and particle board stairs inside the house. Can I use clear semi gloss top coat on it and if so, what kind of product should I use for the clear top coat?

            A:  Hi Topcoat, thanks for your question. To answer your question, you can apply any water-based polyurethane over our Advanced DeckOver to get the semi-gloss finish you want. However, please keep in mind that we do not recommend using our DeckOver on particle board floors/stairs as the surface may begin to break down before the coating does.                 A:  Hi Jenn, thanks for the question. I'm sorry to hear that some of the Advanced Deckover got on your vinyl siding. If the coating is still wet I'd suggest using soap and water. If that isn't successful, I'd recommend checking with you local home improvement store for a product to remove water-based paint. Have a great day! -Ronald

                  Q:I used the Deckover 2 years ago and it looks great. If I want to do it again in 2 or 3 years would I need to scrape it all off or can I clean it and paint right over it with a new can?

                  A:  Hi Domo, thanks for the question. As long as the Advanced Deckover is in sound condition, and isn't peeling, you won't need to remove it before applying another coat. I would suggest cleaning the surface with our All-In-One Wood Cleaner before applying the Advanced Deckover. Have a great day! -Ronald
