A:  The lights are not florescent, no transformer required, and take a standard base bulb (CFC, Incandescent or LED), however they do require direct wiring to your household AC system.

A:  The A15 bulb is a little bit smaller than the standard light bulb and wattage range is between 10 - 40 watts. The base is same as the standard bulb and i use 60 watt equivalent LED 40-60 watt bulbs in my Beldi lamps. Works great and better light.
