A:  It is attached to the toilet with hardware that comes with the unit. It is similar to install a seat cover. It can be easily remove with a push of a side button. It is necessary and useful for routine cleaning.

A:  It bolts onto toilet bowl using the same bolt holes as a regular seat. It simply replaces your regular seat.

    by|Jul 20, 2019

A:  it bolts to the toilet just like a regular seat.

      by|Jul 19, 2019

A:  You’ll need to remove the existing toilet ring and the lid, then secure this bidet on top of the toilet using the hardware provided in the package.

Q:I will need a raised toilet seat after my knees replacement. Would like to buy one after so much good reviews. Would it work to put a raised toilet seat on top of the bidet seat? Would the water reach that high?

A:  Sorry, I am not sure if the water jets will reach their intended positions if you put a raised toilet seat over the BioBidet seat. Best is to contact the dealer via their website, under the Contact tab. They usually answer fairly promptly. I like my BioBidet toilet seat and is now on my second one after 15+ years of usage from my first one. My best wishes on your knee replacement procedure.

A:  You shouldn’t put anything on top of this seat. It’s actually molded and not like a regular flat seat. By placing anything on top of it you risk damaging it. I highly recommend you try to raise your toilet itself or see if you can place the riser under the seat but NOT on top. I’ve had mine for 1 1/2 years now I just love it and will NEVER go back to anything other. I too purchased mine due to surgery but for me it was because I had double carpal tunnel surgery.

A:  The stream is pretty powerful, plus there is a vortex stream that is very powerful. I love my bio bidet.

            by|Mar 13, 2019

A:  You can not add a seat riser to the bidet. Our recommendation would be to lift your toilet or purchase a comfort height toilet.

A:  I guess it depends on the weight. I am 180 lbs., and have sat on it a few times, with no problems. Just a thought, because the lid has no real association with the operation of the seat, it could be easily replaced in case of breakage. They are the greatest, don't want to think of the process without it. Old Joe

A:  The bidet seat itself requires electricity to operate the water jet and heated seat. A nearby Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlet is required.

A:  Toilet paper requires a lot of resource to produce. Electricity is one of the "resources" needed from manufacturing, packaging, delivering to disposing at the sewer plant. The other resources can be packaging material, gasoline in delivering, ink in printing or labeling the package....etc.

Q:Regarding power consumption, this unit is rated at 660 watts (600w tank heater/55w dryer). Is that 600w a continuous draw? Does electric need to constantly supplied to the unit? Since I'm a daily morning "one and done" when it comes to BM's, I'd like to wire the unit to a switched GFCI and simply turn off the unit after I'm done in order to conserve electric. Any problems doing that? How long before the unit is ready for use after initial power up? Thanks.

A:  We would recommend that you use your bidet in eco mode, this will then save on electricity. The heated seat and water stream will then only heat up once you activate the bidet.

A:  It is totally adjustable for heat and settings. I never use the heated seat and as far as the heated water it would take a little while to heat up before using. It has several Economy settings and it only turns on when I use it, but it does maintain a heated water source, so you do have that small draw. I would say 20 minutes to heat up.

A:  The seat remote has options for seat & water temperature. The amount of power consumption would vary depending on which settings are applied. My guess is routinely turning the unit on an off could lead to premature internal electronic component failures, but you would need to consult the manufacturer for a definitive answer.

A:  There's an "economy" mode... not sure exactly what that does But we leave it on because we like the warm seat - even in the summer - and the warm water will take a bit to build up if it's off. The drain is actually pretty minimal - I think it only heats the water when it needs to - so it's not 660 watts continuously.

A:  Only time it uses power continually is if you have heated seat turned on for warm seat always.

A:  I don't think the unit draw any power when it is idling. It does only if you turn on the heated seat mode. It is ready within seconds when you plug it in.

A:  The bidet attaches to the holes at the back of the toilet bowl just like a regular toilet seat. The elevated toilet seats I'm aware of don't have holes at the back to attach a seat cover so the bidet most likely wouldn't work for that application. The actual bidet seat is somewhat smaller than a standard toilet seat as extra room is required for the mechanical water spraying parts so I don't think that an elevated seat would fit on top of the bidet seat either. Your best bet would be to install a "comfort height" toilet which are roughly 2" higher than standard height toilets and then install the bidet. Also be aware that bidet seats require a nearby GFCI protected outlet to plug in the power cord. They do come with water fittings for attaching to existing water supply lines.

You will need to contact Koehler for dimensions of their “compact” toilet. My guess is the seat size is standard so the bidet should work unless there is a non-standard seat for the “compact” model

We are available Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time. Thank you, Bio Bidet Support

One thing for sure is that I absolutely love this bidet and will always have one in my bathroom (It's in the guest bathroom too!), just as I will always have a whole house fan. I wouldn't want to live without either...lol..My only complaint is that the seat cracks, even though I clean them as directed. And this is why I have owned 3 of them. The 4th one was because I bought the wrong shape and didn't open the box until it was too late to send back (hence the guest bathroom having one). That was bought on eBay (never again), the other's from Home Depot. Good Luck!
