Q:If we drill holes to drive stakes into ground, will it cause the ?rock? to crack, or damage its ability to withstand high winds?

Answer This Question

A:  Hello Martini Thank you for your message. Our artificial rocks are made of fiberglass, so they can be drilled. I would recommend pre-drilling first, to avoid undue damage to the material. I hope this is helpful. If you have further questions, please let us know. Kind regards, Backyard X-Scapes CSR, Alaina

A:  The listing says "Our rock boulders are constructed from fiberglass, resin, and rock particles." The resin and the fiberglass don't effect the electronic signals much at all so it just depends on the "rock particles". I checked online and fiberglass is often used in enclosures holding wifi equipment specifically because it does not block the signal (a metal enclosure would).

A:  If it read electronically there should be no problem.

              by|Apr 28, 2021

A:  Since there is no metal to interfere with the signal there should be no issue with electronic meter reading.

A:  Hi Harvester, This boulder as well as our smaller ones do not come with stakes nor have a hole cut out for them to prevent from moving in such strong winds. That might be something to try out, you can drill into the rock if you wish to attached some kind of stakes. The large boulder is about 25 pounds and I consider it still low to the ground, having a few outside on display I have seen it through some storms with out moving, but nothing like 100 mph wind.
