There should be a label inside the housing of your installed unit that would provide the model number to you. A:  Hi Nate, Thank you for your question on the model 504. The 504 uses a 10" round duct size. The 688 uses a 3" round duct The 3" duct size would not be compatible with the 504.

A:  The 504 can be used in the kitchen. We would encourage you to get the metal grille (part number S97013825). Broan-NuTone also offers an aluminum filter (part number S99010271) that can be used to capture grease particles. It will be best to view the specifications for actual dimensions. We do have some information on Miami Carey models, but measuring the opening and comparing it to the 504 spec sheet will be the best course of action. A:  The 504 can be operated on a variable speed control switch. You may want to view our model 72W or 72V.
