        A:  Hey JayLo, big fan. This shade sail is not waterproof although it is water-resistant and rain will fall off the edges if installed at an angle.

          A:  It is more like a sunshade fabric with a loose weave. It isn't intended to keep an area dry in the rain. I think this could be washed if it gets dirty. I have similar sun fabric with no hardware & I wash it every year.
