Answer This Question
A: Yes. It's for outdoor use. Propane, not electric. One of the photos shows a standard propane connector for a regular 5 gallon tank.

A: Yes it does, like you use on a propane outdoor grill not the small ones for lanterns.

A: Yes, a standard 20lb or similar gas bottle works well. The hose and regulator are included with the heater. It won't accept 1lb cylinders.

Q:Can you turn on and off mid shower/use (to conserve water) and what pump is recommended for use without water pressure?

Answer This Question
A: Yes you can and I would use a 2-2.5 electric pump. They do have one that comes with the pump but it is sold out right now.

A: The description says the heat source turns on automatically when water flows. So, yes. And probably any pump that can provide at least a bit more than 1.5 GPH. This unit has a regular water hose connector so be sure whatever pump you choose will support that.

Answer This Question
A: We use it in a nice, small, very well ventilated building built around our well. I believe They recommend that you don't use it inside. But since ours is an outdoor shed type building that is very airy we've never experienced a problem. The odd thing is, that it is not waterproof so if you do hang it outside, you must keep it very well covered up during rain.

A: There is a video on YouTube of a similar or identical unit installed inside, BUT the appliance MUST be vented to allow for enough oxygen and to eliminate carbon monoxide.

A: I put my Triton in an outdoor shower with a plank about 18 inches above the top. Leaves and rain water seemed to be getting in the top, which seemed to slow the ignition. So I took the metal cover from an old BBQ grill and placed that above the unit with about 6 inches of clearance. The unit seems to like this better. I am not sure if I need the cover, but I am happier with it there and feel it will prolong the life of the Triton.

Q:How many gallons per minute comes out of the shower head ?
by|Jun 16, 2016

Answer This Question
A: For my application, I estimate the output at 1 to 2 gallons per minute, depending if it is hi or low setting, but I haven't actually measured the flow. I have also not compared the flow in vs. flow out, but for my application they are close to equal. The shower output is more than satisfactory for showering.

A: I tried measuring the water pressure with a $10 Watts guage...I measured 26 psi at the house, which is recommended. The pressure at the shower did not measure reliably, but was a lot less than at the house and the hot water heater still works. I recommend the empirical approach.
