Q:I have a ceiling that I will need to retrofit as I cannot open it up (potential asbestos and other issues). Is it correct that these can be affixed directly to the existing ceiling? And then we would attach drywall to these once that was done? Thank you

Q:Would adding a strip of rubber tape to the stud where the RC attaches add to the sound proofing ability? Would there be any harm in doing this that anybody can envisage?

    A:  Hi, Commercial Superintendent here. We prefer installing it on 16-18" OC, 16" when installed on ceilings. However you can install it 24" OC per the manufacturer.

      A:  Yes, ceiling 12" on center for a lifelong flat ceiling. 16" oc for walls for impact protection.. great for noise, install screwed edge toward the floor if wall applying.
