Q:I have a 34 in closet. Can I use a 24 in top track and hang the shelves leaving 5-6 inches outside each side? I am planning on hanging two shelves. Would a properly mounted 24 in track be able to hold the weight?

we do not recommend the shelves being out that far from the standards. We ask that it be no more than 2 inches from the end of the shelf to the first shelf bracket.

Q:Hi what is the size of track from inside? Meaning the gap size? Is it 1 inch or more?
I am actually planning to use this as track for 1inch sliding doors.

Answer This Question
A: No, it is approx 3/4". The gap is just wide enough for the standard to fit into. Standards are 1"wide, but the depth of the standard is less than 1". The website does not provide that specification. You could measure in the store. Mine are fastened securely to the wall, so hard to get exact measurment.

A: It’s hard to answer this question without more information. The hanging bracket provides a anchor for the shelf strips that hold the brackets and eventually the shelf and clothes rod. The key would be having lots of shelf strips which provides solid support for brackets, shelf and clothes rod I will warn you that holes in hanging bracket very seldom lined up with 2x4 in wall. I usually drill extra holes to match studs. Very important to place screw support on all items in studs.
