A:  although it will burn cherry pits, walnut shells, acorn shells corn etc it is strictly made for wood pellets and tested for wood pellets.

A:  The surface of the units get above 400 degrees and if a unit is over temped for a prolonged period of time a small pigmentation loss may occur (white film)or if any liquids are applied to the surface the outer layers may discolor slightly. No liquids should be used on the surface. The manufacturer has touch up paint for any freight damages which the review was pertaining to.

A:  As long as you maintain the 48inch clearance.

A:  The exhaust is electrically powered and does not rely on any draft unless you exceed a rise of over 16feet.

A:  comfortbilt responded here saying its 16 inches to the center but the manual on their website says 17"?

A:  On the HP21 the exhaust is 16 inches off the floor to the center.

A:  the stove units are tested periodically to adhere to the EPA standards. The HP21 was tested again this August and the efficiency was tested at 76.3. These tests vary widely from year to year. The stove in prior years was tested at 84 % two years ago. Last years test was 79%. The main factor is the unit is above the minimum requirement for the IRS rebate of 75%.
