A:  I had a smoke issue the first time , I discovered the ash drawer wasn’t sealed tightly enough , I tightened the latch system on the drawer and that took care of the problem

A:  Yes, it will need a non-combustible surface such as tile, brick, cement blocks, but on the comfortbilt site you can see a full selection of hearth pads.

A:  Really the only assembly is the exhaust piping that connects to the stove and possibly the pad to sit it on. The unit itself is fully assembled.
