A:  this varies on you installation, eg: going thru roof (varying height here), going straight out the back and so on. we went straight out back and up 3 feet. on pages 15 thru 20 of the tech man for the hp22 will give you an idea on this (this is our unit). on page 13 of that same manual it shows the chart or recommended height applications, if you aren't sure contact the pros for install, because you don't want any backpressure, airflow issues

Q:Does Home Depot have an installers list for these inserts?
      by|Nov 3, 2019
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  This unit is not an insert as it is a full sized free-standing unit. Home Depot may have installers available, but the installation process is reasonably straightforward. I recommend watching online videos. The unit is considerably heavy at approximately 300 lbs.

Q:What does Comfortbilt say about the poor hopper operation?
        by|Oct 30, 2019
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  hello, I don't know what they say, but here is what we observed with ours.. . the hopper/auger device works great, where the "issue" lays is with the angle of the sides within the hopper bay, the pellets don't seem to want to migrate to the center as the hopes empties itself, so the initial weight of the pellets drives them down to the auger, but as this weight goes away so does the efficiency of the gravity feed near the end. we simply keep an eye on it and routinely we will open the lid and push the pellets from the sides to the center and this works awesome. but as for poor hopper/auger operation this is the only item we have heard of but it isn't due to the actual mechanical defect issues. but we do wish the hopper was larger and especially since there is plenty of room in that un it to accommodate to too. maybe the company is listening in....:):):) we have also used this to our advantage too, when it nears the empty stage the flames will die down and we are like it is time to refill.

          Answer This Question

A:  When running in TEMP/Thermostat mode the unit goes into a standby function which basically turns the unit down to the lowest setting.

          by|Oct 29, 2019

A:  hello, we just purchased this unit, what it does is go to that set temp and then it backs down to maintains a minimum flame until it is required to produce more heat when the temp fluctuates. but it does stay on

A:  as long as the pellet stove is connected to the energy source that is powered by the generator it should work if the power goes out.

A:  This likely depends on the reaction time of your generator and switch...being a solid state electronic type control unit, it may be sensitive to a momentary voltage drop.

A:  If using 180° or more of elbows and one cleanout tee you have to use a 4" pipe; otherwise a typical install with just a tee and end pipe should only require 3" pipe. Lastly, the horizontal run should not exceed 10 feet...

A:  Check the specifications in the instillation instructions. They are very detailed on how far out to come with the pipe for safety according to your structure and place of installment in your home.

A:  The HP 22 is by far the easiest stove to access internal components. The stove is equipped with magnetic side doors allowing you to have easy access. All of the components are very easy to replace.

A:  The panels are hinged and magnetically latched. They all open for easy access, but depending on where you install it in the room, your walls may be the most obstructive aspect of gaining access if too close to a wall. For ease of access, I highly recommend a corner installation.
