A: I don't know the max temp but I put mine in my 1 story garage in Florida - IT GETS HOT IN THERE!
A: The maximum operating temp for this shop light is 40c or about 113 degrees fahrenheit.
A: Up to 4
A: A maximum of four units of this product may be linked together.
A: Box says 4
A: 4
A: The directions say 4 of lights can be linked together. I linked 3 together with no problem
A: yes it is
A: Yes, each light fixture has a plug that you can plug another fixture into.
A: Yes, there is a 2 prong receptacle on the end of the fixture,
A: YES, YOU CAN LINK THE LIGHTS AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT EXCEED THE POWER RATING OF THE PLUG ON THE LIGHT. SINCE THE LED PULLS VERY LOW POWER, THIS SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM.
A: Yes plug it in end of light
A: If you plugged it into a light fixture, it might be doubly switched by pull chain & the fixture. Use unswitched wall plug.
A: you most like had too much amperage pulled through it and destroyed one of the internal boards.
A: You probably fried it, why would you plug a shop vac into an outlet that’s only designed for adding a second 30-watt light? Even a small shop vac will draw about 10 times the wattage s Light can handle, since the outlet on the light can is only rated to support up to three additional 30-watt lights, and a shop vac will draw hundreds of watts at a minimum. Home Depot will probably take it back if you have the receipt, it has a five year warranty.
A: I would only plug in another light fixture to this light. U should never mix different loads/applications like that. IMHO.
A: The light has a five year warranty, return it and get another, and don’t plug-in anything other than another light into the new light’s socket. These lights draw about 30 watts, a shopvac can draw over 1500, the equivalent of fifty lights. The light’s socket isn’t designed to handle that large electrical load, it was designed to handle a few low wattage lights strung together. Also, a shopvac should have a grounded plug, and the outlet on these lights has no ground, another reason to not use the outlet on the light to run tools with a large electrical draw.
A: Buy a new light. Outlet is for another similar fixture.
A: Take it back
A: you may have over loaded the lamp circuit . if the lamp is not working after being unplugged for a few minutes than the led circuit board is fried .
A: Make sure you have power to the light or take it and plug in another plug
A: You can not use the plugs for more than 3 of the lights into and it will not run any appliances. You have blown the fuse in the fixture. You will have to replace the fixture.
A: No
A: yes install either way. if u remove the back you will expose the cicuit board that the leds are soldered to which may give an undesired look.
A: Back panel is part of the shell. The attachment points are on the end caps. That being said, the answer is no.
A: They appear to be a 1 piece unit. I hung mine tight to the cellar floor joists with the provided cable that came with them.
A: No way would it be safe or okay to hang or flush mount these without the back panel. The panel protects the bulb from side impacts. When hung using the suspended chains, the panel is needed to keep the distance between the two end caps (instead of the bulb doing it). Removing the back panel is a dangerous and unsafe modification. ie: safety and fire hazard
A: I currently have these hanging without the backs, so my question is is this okay. The back panel is held on with 2 small screws.
A: No. The back panel provides rigidity, support and a housing for the two ends and fixture.
A: Yes, I installed them flush. There are screw holes in the back that allow you to do that.
A: of you can figure out how to attach the body of the light with therear mounting points. I would say yes.
A: The back panel is structural, I would not recommend removing it.
A: The amount of UV light emitted by White LEDs in this integrated LED fixture is well less than a single percentage point.
A: Not listed.
A: There is no information on UV light emitted by this fixture in the box or in the user manual.
A: "...by design, LEDs used for lighting do not emit UV or IR radiation." Quoted from U.S. Department of Energy Building Technologies Office SOLID-STATE LIGHTING TECHNOLOGY FACT SHEET, which can be seen at this link https://www1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/publications/pdfs/ssl/opticalsafety_fact-sheet.pdf
A: LEDs do not emit UV.
A: Yes, they are linkable.
A: Yes, they have an outlet on the end so you can plug one into the other.
A: Yes. There is a plug on each that allows you to plug one into the previous one and then turn them off individually (i.e. turning off the first in the line does not automatically turn off the second, third, ...)
A: Thank you for your question. There is a 5 ft. plug-in chord for power or linkability on one end, and an outlet receptacle on the opposite end to allow up to 4 units to be linked together.
A: Yes they are. Just make sure that where you hang them are iun the range of the power cord. I have eight of these in my garage and its like daytime.
A: The 2 prong plug is polarized. The larger prong connects to the same point in the breaker box as a safety ground on a 3 prong plug. It's safe.
A: No ground needed.
A: all lights have a hot and neutral . the neutral is ground by electrical standards as it is the common One prong is hot, the other is neutral (ground) so you see they are grounded. If you have any doubts ask a HD associate or an electrician.
A: My light is in my furnace room and mine has two prongs. My son, an apprentice electrician, says that the ground is in screwed into the ballast itself and that it is grounded.
A: Yes. 2 prong
A: Show them your HD credit card. It was sent to all card owners.
A: Not that I m aware, you may go to customer service and explain to them your situation and they may grant you that 10%
A: This LED fixture is listed as non dimmable, so there is no surety that it will dim properly on a dimmer switch.
A: No
A: No
A: Not dimmable
A: LED lights need an LED dimmer switch, it needs to trim pod in the switch to match the crossover point so it doesn't flicker when holding a dim position
