Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your inquiry, the junction box does not have to be mounted if doing a new setup.
It's dependant on the room in your ceiling.

A: The junction box just gets tossed in the ceiling after you wire it up.
by|Jan 16, 2023
A: No, you do not mount the junction box. You would slide the box over up the ceiling and push the light into the hole.

A: If you are replacing an existing recessed light, there typically will be plenty of room to set the box off to the side of the light fixture. I generally don't mount the box, and just set it on the drywall next to the fixture. But if it had to be put on top, I don't see why you couldn't. The lights are low heat, and rated for insulation contact, so there is no reason it would be a problem.

A: Thank you for your inquiry, it is recommended to have 1-1.5" to install these properly.

A: This item can be installed directly below a ceiling joist. The product is just under 1/2" thick so as long as you have 1/2" drywall on your ceiling, you don't have to consider where the joists are located. The larger consideration is getting power to the lights.
