Q:I'm applying mosaic sheets of 1" x 1" Natural Slate tile (8mm thick) as a kitchen backsplash. Grout lines are 1/8". Existing wall is flat paint over knockdown texture. What's the best wall prep to do? Smooth the texture with joint compound, then prime?
