A: A standard bushing guide kit will fit the round base for this router. However, there are no bushing guide kits for the 'D' base or the plunge base.

A: What is the issue you were encountering? (I realize this question is a few months late.) If you're doing dados and rabbets, you may need to make multiple passes of increasing depth if the motor is stalling. You might also see about some sharper or new router bits. If the issue is ragged edges, you might need to switch from a straight bit to a downcut router bit.

A: No, this is used more with a round-over bit, or mortising hinges, or trimming laminate.

A: If you don't change out to a larger cutter it might work ok on small projects. The 1 1/4 hp motor doesn't seem strong enough to accomplish anything challenging such as oak or high density particle boards.

Q:Does the diameter of the opening in the housing allow the use of a 1-3/4" diameter chamfer bit?

Answer This Question
A: I would not recommend using this router with such a large bit - also, check the diameter of the shank of your bit - I'm guessing that it's 1/2" - this router only accepts 1/4" shanks.

A: Yes this router can be mounted on router table.
by|May 4, 2023
A: Short answer is no, not on a standard plate setup. You could buy your own plate insert and drill holes in it to mount, but no Bosch, Skil, or Craftsman style router tables will be compatible. You can buy a benchtop Kreg router table and drill your own holes in that. I think it has to do with the lack of HP. Most of those tables mentioned above are compatible with the DW616PK and DW618PK, which is what I wish I would have bought if I had to do over again.

Q:Can you use a router with the key kit suggested to join pieces similar to a biscuit joiner?
by|Mar 21, 2016

Answer This Question
A: Not sure which "Key Kit" is suggested. However, any router can use a slot cutter bit and then you cut out slots and use biscuits for gluing boards together. If you have a router, you just need the slot cutter bit(s). If you don't, this one should work well with a slot cutter.
