Q:Is the 84 tooth better than the 80 tooth blade, as they are both used for metal and plastic cuts? They are practically the same price, and do the same job with a 4 tooth difference on the blade. Are more teeth on the blade necessarily better?

A:  It could but I would go for a higher tooth count when cutting PVC trim. Maybe 50, 60, or even 80 teeth. This blade has deep gullets which are meant to hog out a lot of material, pretty fast. Again, this blade will cut PVC but it is not your best option.

A:  Yes it will, Also put a peice of masking tape on top of where you are cutting for a smoother, cleaner cut

            Answer This Question

A:  Only if the metal inserts are soft aluminum, otherwise, no (unless you want to replace blade afterwards... do not attempt this... real damage may result... definitely to the blade, potentially to the saw and perhaps even to yourself).

A:  I would not recommend this blade for that use. This blade is for cutting laminate flooring. It may or may not cut those railings but it probably will not give the best results.
