Q:How do I use this for container tomatoes and herbs? My plants have been planted for only 2 weeks. Should I wait before I fertilize them?

      Answer This Question

A:  Many potting soils already have a little fertilizer in them to help your young starts grow. I’d wait 3-4 weeks for your first application and then apply every 6-8 weeks.

A:  It’s best to follow the instructions on the package. As a general approach, just lightly dust the surface of your soil around the plants and then gently mix it into the top soil.

A:  Thank you for your question. The best way to apply the Dr. Earth Home Grown Tomato, Vegetable and Herb fertilizer to plants in containers is to sprinkle 1/8 cup of fertilizer on soil around the plant. Lightly work the fertilizer into the soil and then water thoroughly.
