Q:The 1 7/8 inch measurement is measured from where to where? Is this from the top straight edge to the widest part of the rounded swoop? If you flipped the piece over, measured from the top straight edge to the widest part of the rounded swoop, what is the measurement? I am trying to match up to pieces that are already in use.

Q:Why can't this be painted in outdoor paint and used outdoors? Also second question: Will this work to block opening that occur between a corrugated fiberglass roof and the wall of the house? (assuming it can be protected w/paint).

A: Mine is indoors, so I can't say for sure, but I don't see why not- it is paintable and lots of outdoor things, like furniture are made out of pine. However, as a suggestion, you might want to buy a small amount and test it, and that way you would know for sure, without investing much time or money.

A: I don't think this item would hold up long term outdoors, even coated with outdoor paint.

A: It could be used outside with proper paint. As for the other half of the question, you would have to measure the gap to see if the wood trim is thick enough to cover the air gap. Also, you might want to caulk the gap first so there would be a tight paintable seal.
