A:  Hi DP, Thank you for your question, DP! Yes, the Delta Lahara Shower Trim T17238-RB as well as all other Delta 17 series trim kits can be used on an older 1700 series valve body. However, you will need to continue using the RP32104 cartridge as the newer MultiChoice cartridge that is included with this kit, will not fit into the older valve body. Best regards, Tanya

The 14 series operates by rotating the handle counter-clockwise from the off position at 3'oclock and increasing in temperature as you turn it. The 14 series does not have a volume control. A:  Hi, It depends on what is wrong with your shower valve. Typically, only the cartridge needs replacing, as that is generally the only part that wears out. That can be easily accessed without tearing out the shower wall, by removing the handles and trim plate. Installation is relatively simple, and the cartridge should be readily available. At this time, you can also replace the handles and trim plate with updated ones. Before going to purchase a new cartridge, make sure and check what model your shower valve is. It is denoted on the trim plate, usually the lower word on the plate, as an example: The top word on the name plate would be Delta, and the bottom word might be Monitor. Also take the old cartridge with you, if you can. It will save a lot of trouble. Make sure and turn off the water supply to the shower valve before removing the cartridge. Good Luck

A:  Dear Leland, Thank you for your inquiry! The 600 series can be updated with the RP54870RB Renovation Kit.
