A:  Yes, you will need to install backer board before installing the acrylic Q-Walls. The shower base will install in a bed of mortar directly up against studs, then you will hang 1/2" thick backer board up around the shower base. Once the base and backer board are installed, you will trim the acrylic walls per the instructions in the manual, then glue them to the backer board using an acrylic-safe construction grade adhesive. A:  The wall kit will consist of 4 panels total - 1 left, 1 right, and 2 back panels. This is a glue-up wall kit that will need to be glued to backer board and there are not any pre-drilled holes for the glass shelves, so you can put them in either the left or the right corner. A:  This shower kit will ship on a pallet containing multiple boxes. The largest boxes will be the box with the shower door and the box with the shower wall. The shower door box will be approximately 36" x 76" and the shower wall box will be approximately 42" x 76". Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!

A:  The shower base that comes with this kit will require your framing to be 36" x 48". So, once you have removed everything down to the studs, the measurement must be 36" x 48" to fit the shower base. Anything less than that, and the base will not fit into the opening and you cannot reduce the size of the shower base in any way. The shower door is adjustable to fit a finished opening that is between 44-48", but the shower base is not adjustable and it will require your framing to be 36" x 48".
