A:  In theory, yes it could. However, the instruction manual recommends that the unit only be plugged directly into the outlet, and we shouldn't use an extension cord of any type. The 10 ft cord isn't long enough to reach most outlets when it's sitting in a hot tub/pool, so good luck figuring that one out. :)

A:  Hi Paul, per our vendor of the 1/4 HP Submersible Utility Pump, it uses dielectric transformer oil. Hope this helps! Unfortunately we do not offer the cord as a singular purchase on Homedepot.com. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot!

A:  For replacement parts you have to call 877-326-3561. The instruction manual doesn't tell us how to repair or replace any items, and doesn't tell us what kind of oil cools the pump.
