Q:How does it attach to a wood hand rail?

Answer This Question
A: Well this may sound crazy but I tried drilling a hole then trying to put them into the holes, but I am kinda old woman so I decided to make it easy so I bought some wooden dowels small enough to put into the bottom of each metal rod it will go in and finally stop hit it good with hammer left about 1/4 inch sticking out. First measure the length you will need cut metal pieces at each end, mark and drill hole in step and then in hand rail I unscrewed hand rail at one end so I could have a little jiggle room then just insert the little dowl sticking out of each end into holes..worked like a dream spent hours doing it other ways this was quick and easy..hope this helps.

A: The balusters are held together by a top rail and bottom rail. The rails are supported by posts.
by|Sep 18, 2019
A: You have to order the little end caps sold separately , first you measure the length you need baluster to be add little to each end then drill whole in the floor do all of them before you drill holes in the hand rail I put a tad of liquid nails in the holes. Put the decorative cap on the bottoms which will hide the holes then line up the hand rail putting on top of the balusters. You really need someone to help you at this point, little tricky to do by yourself. Be sure to drill the handrails matching the spacing of the holes in the floor so that each balusters and as perfect as you can get them straight I used a small level...hope this helps.

A: The Balusters can be trimmed down. My husband used a carbide cutoff saw blade for steel. I'd advise you to wear safety glasses and something non-flammable; it creates lots of sparks when you are cutting them. Hope this helps!!!
