Q:I did a chemical stain on my patio 10 years ago. Will re-staining cause a problem? Other than power washing it, do I need to do anything further? Use etching solution?
by|Apr 29, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: If the surface has been chemically stained previously, you may not achieve the desired results with a new Acid Stain. I recommend sampling our Acid Stain on a small, out-of-the-way, portion of your concrete before continuing.

Q:Can I use this for a concrete birdbath?
by|Apr 26, 2023

A: Eagle Sealer Acid Stain was not designed or tested for use on or in birdbaths. Our Acid stain will react and stain concrete, but likely not hold its color if a waterproof sealer is not applied.

Q:Can this be used on a driveway? Also, is there a non slip sealer? My driveway is pretty slanted, and my dogs/Mom slip down it when it is stained. Obviously, I will be removing the old stain completely, and am looking for a less slippery product to redo.

Answer This Question
A: I wouldn’t hesitate using it on your driveway. I’ve used it on both of my patios and the color has not worn, due to it not being a paint. Also the stain itself is not slippery, rather it’s the sealer you put on after that makes the surface somewhat slick when wet. I personally have never slipped on my patio and it is sealed.

Answer This Question
A: Our Acid Stains will possibly stain any material that has cement; however, the mix ratios, admixtures and finish will effect how the stain reacts. Test areas should always be preformed with acid stains to determine reactivity and color. Also, Onyx is not black. Black is not a color that can be achieved with acid stains. Onyx is a concentration of brown that can give the illusion of black on the right material or it can also look very brown.
