A:  Hello Jason and thanks for your question. This unit is equipped with a thermostat so it sounds as though it is doing what it is supposed to. It's designed to turn on as the room cools and turn off as it heats up. There is a control knob where you can adjust the desired temperature setting.

A:  I saw the control knob with number 1, 2, 3, ... on the circle. That seems to control the flame height. Is this knob controlling temperature setting too? Thanks.

A:  Hello Elva and thanks for your question. Yes it can be painted. Best practice is to lightly sand it with a fine grit sandpaper, prime it with a Kilz or something similar, then paint it white. You can use a high temp paint but you really don't even need to. The majority of the heat is pushed out from the metal firebox and doesn't effect the wood. It may take 2 coats of white...even after priming.

Q:How to fix fireplace to mantel? How to secure the position and make sure it won't fall out?

            Answer This Question

A:  Hello Jason and thanks for your question. The fireplace "insert" or "firebox" simply sets inside the mantel with nothing that really attaches them together. As long as the mantel part is resting flat and in a secured position, you shouldn't need to worry about the insert moving. It's stable enough.
