Answer This Question

A:  One every 8 ft.

by|Jun 26, 2023

A:  Sherry, thanks for your question. The recommended spacing for U-posts is one post every 5 to 10 feet, depending on the application. So, you may need 10 to 20 posts, depending on the type of fence you are installing.

A:  I don't know what would be required to hold up a hog panel but this is a pretty heavy duty steel stake. I used 2 of them to hold up a weeping cherry tree about 5 " in dia after a storm just about blew the tree over.

A:  VABluebirder, thank-you for asking your question. No, there is not enough depth / width to accept a piece of 1" EMT conduit that would sit flush behind the U.

A:  Phil, thanks for asking your question. Many customers often report that a minimum height needed to deter deer is 6 feet.

              by|Jul 25, 2022

A:  These are heavy duty posts and should hold the fence up well, as long as your soil isn't too loose to support the posts driven 2 ft. in the ground. Adult deer can jump a 5ft. fence.

                by|Jul 28, 2022

A:  That is what i purchased these for and so far no deer have jumped it!

                  by|Mar 2, 2024

A:  no. you probably need 6 ft above grade and you lose about 1.5 ft driving this into the dirt. good luck.

A:  No, I used rubber mallet to tap in. In one spot I was going to use a little 2x4 piece on top and then pound that for more force but it ended up going in after a few harder hits .

A:  For my use, I used a large size metal /rubber head hammer. My soil where i used them was a bit hard ground. If you have a soft ground, I'm certain you can just use arms to press them into the ground.

A:  The size of this one may be a little small for a heavy duty tree stake. It works well for small fence posts. I would size up for a large tree.
