Answer This Question
A: Since about 1.5 ft is in the ground, 7.5 ft or more.

A: 7.5 to 8 foot. We have rocky soil and 1.5 foot depth is adequate. If driving t-post in manually, you'll need to stand on a ladder.

A: They are strong enough.

A: No, I would not advise it. There's no good way to attach the wood to the poles and they are not meant to support that weight. A really strong wind would probably blow it over.

Q:These had rust on them at the store; I could not find any that did not. Is that normal, and will they still work?

A: Is made out of steel so rust is normal it will take long time for this post to rust to a point that would be useless but if rust is your concern just clean it with a wire brush and paint it.

A: Sometimes comes with chipped paint, therefore it rust. I wire brush mine and Krylon mine. Sometimes a little color doesn't hurt. Yes they still work. Darn things are so heavy duty, that is why they weigh so much!
by|Dec 5, 2022
A: Yes surface rust
by|Dec 29, 2022
A: Yes. The paint is applied to make the post look pretty for retail sale. But....its a fence post. Rust will not impact the post. All fence posts rust eventually out in the weather. Unless the post is immersed in salt water or exposed to salt air it's likely it will outlast you lol

A: Yes they will still work. Rust won’t harm them unless they are rusted through. In that case, I don’t think you would have purchased them.

A: Totally normal. These posts are the bomb and you will need a sledgehammer to get them in the ground 2 feet. I touched them up with Rustoleum Hunter Green paint in the end.

Q:Can the T post be used to support grape vine?

Answer This Question
A: I would think only if you put in two with a piece of fence. Although they go pretty deep over time the weight of the vine would make it fall over
by|Nov 8, 2022
A: Vineyard grapevines are grown horizontally on wires attached between vertical supports. These could be used as supports to hold the horizontal wires. One could also try to train grapevine up the post, but my experience has been that the grapevine needs more area than a single post, so several with wires attached between the posts would be much better than a single post.

A: Yes, it is an excellent and sturdy option to support grape, tomatoes, and other fruit producing vines.
by|Nov 5, 2022
A: The posts will support the weight of the grapes hanging on wires strung between the posts. The wires (hung on posts installed with the bottom flange parallel to fence line) will not sag and pull the posts in if tightened between two well braced end posts. Posts installed with bottom flange perpendicular may reduce sagging without additional support and bracing. (I will try that next time.)

Q:What type of fence is required for the 1-3/4 in. x 3-1/2 in. x 7 ft. Green Steel Fence T-Post? In the photo it looks like a special fencing, but I want fencing with smaller holes than the fence in the photo for this post. Please help

A: Depends on what the fencing is for, and where it is going. We are rurally located but needed fencing to keep coyotes out and our dogs safe. We used the 5 ft 14 gauge black PVC coated fencing welded wire and used black 54" T-Post sleeves to "dress up" the t-posts. Black is visually pleasing because you see less of it.

A: Hi KMOD. You can use any fabric that you need. The photographs show the T-Post clips (901169BEB) securing the fabric to the T-Posts. We recommend using the T-Post Clips to properly secure the fabric to the T-Posts. We hope this information helps. Thank you for your question.
