A:  I successfully used this template with Blum 1/2" overlay soft close hinges. I used a 5/16 bit to drill out the dowel holes.

A:  No it will not as the hole for the hinge needs to be 1/2 inch deep therefore the hole would go through the door

A:  The instructions including with the hinge should suffice for the template. I am an amatuer woodworker and I followed those instructions instead

A:  Yes you need to read the instructions and from then on it's pretty easy. If needed you may have to practice on a sample board to get use to it. But when you start boring the hole start slowly, like us we broke a bit of the corner, so start it slowly and mark depth too.

A:  The depth of the hole is determined by the operator. The hinges I used specified that the hole needed to be 1/2inch in depth so I used a tiny piece of scrap that was 1/2 inch deep to measure.

A:  Before you start on your cabinet do a practice on a sample board. and you may have to mark your bit to where you need to stop. My husband did this before he started on the replacement hinges. Best tp mark it with a marker.

A:  Phillip, Thank you for your questions. The Align Right 35 mm Cabinet Hinge Installation Template will make a 1/2" deep. If you follow the instructions you should not drill through your cabinet door. Most standard cabinet doors are 3/4". Best, Stephanie with Customer Care
