Q:Can Flex Paste be sanded after fully cured?
by|Feb 17, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hey there, thanks for reaching out. Unlike spackle or joint compound, Flex Paste dries to a waterproof, flexible rubber. Therefore, sanding may not be the best option once Flex Paste has cured. Instead of sanding we recommend using a putty knife, trowel or similar tool to smooth over the surface of the Flex Paste to your desired finish. You can even add designs and patterns to Flex Paste to create your own unique artistic textures. We always recommend testing the product in a small area before completing a project. Q:Can Flex paste be applied over existing acrylic caulking sealant? This would be applied to (IMP) insulated metal (roof) panels.

Answer This Question
A: Hey there Scott, thanks for reaching out. Flex Paste adheres to a variety of surfaces. However, it may not adhere to certain plasticized or rubber surfaces. We recommend testing in a small inconspicuous area before using. You can use Flex Paste on a wide variety of surfaces such as wood, glass, tile, concrete, aluminum, metal, brick, stucco, masonry, copper, fabric, fiberglass, ceramic, porcelain, natural stones, roofing, PVC, EIFS, EPDM, CSPE, Hypalon polyurethanes and so much more. We always recommend removing all old caulk/sealant from the surface before starting to ensure the best seal possible. Many caulks will end up affecting the new seal over time, regardless of which product was used. If you have any other questions or need project-specific advice, send us an email at humans@flexsealproducts.com or DM on socials. We’re here to help!
