Answer This Question

A:  If you have talking about the seat and not the tank the adjustment is done on the fill valve small hose. The small hose that connects to the round tube has a blue attachment that pinches the hose to control the flow of water into the bowl. moving the roller toward the the fill valve will increase the amount of water to add to the bowl.

by|May 4, 2023

A:  A combination of turning the blue wheel on the tube to 0 and turning the black adjustment screw counterclockwise.

Q:Many people are having the same problem.

A:  Mine broke about a year as well. I got on the chat to see where I could buy a new cable (I didn't hold onto the warranty information, seriously who does that). They sent out the new updated model (the one that ends in a 3) at no charge to me in a few days. Didn't need receipt. No company is perfect, stuff is defective or poorly designed. We are all human, it happens. But how you handle a bad situation speaks volumes. FluidMaster has a customer for life.

A:  If you call Fluidmaster, they will send you a new redesigned system that's supposed to be better. Mine is on the way, so we'll see. My problem has been the cheap, weak handle of the original design, which is now supposed to be much improved. If any more issues, I'm going back to a good ol' reliable flapper. Can't complain about their customer service though, always friendly & knowledgeable and ship a replacement system in 2 days.

A:  I had three break in two years (the most current today, 8/25/2016) and was not happy. I called Fluidmaster's Customer Service and their representative handled this situation great. He told me there was a change in the mechanism and they had not had a complaint due to a broken cable in seven months. They are shipping a new unit to me that should arrive on 8/29/2016. It will snap into the existing base so we'll see what happens.

A:  5 year warranty. I had a handle problem, and emailed support. Within minutes I got an answer, and a replacement was mailed to me the same day.

A:  The ball bearing (ball on the end of the flush cable that holds it in place) pulls off and the whole things becomes worthless. Every design has a weak link. We made it about two years as well. Tried to replace the end with a split shot, but the crimp isn't strong enough, will end up replacing the whole thing. Great idea, will look for a simpler model with water saving capabilities.

A:  Same thing. Cable mechanism broke on the one I had (old version cable connects on side). I knew when I bought it because I had a receipt for the tank bolts I replaced at the same time, but didn't have the fluidmaster receipt of course. Fluidmaster tech support sent me a replacement (new version cable connects on the top). Easy replacment as you can use your existing fluidmaster old version connections and pretty much click in the new one. There are few companies that stand by their products and customers like this. Will buy again, actually already have purchased another fluidmaster part for another toilet. Here is a youtube video that shows replacing out the old version with the new version: "Replacing the Duo Flush Valve" by "TheToilet Pro": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEEp0nUgdpU&t=4s

A:  I contacted Fluidmaster about this very issue and was told that the solution is to have the retailer replace the unit. HD said that without a receipt they would not replace it. So to answer you question, no.

A:  Cable also broke for me, and we called warranty and received a newer version 1 day after the call. The rep informed us that the cable issue is addressed in the newer version, and we do feel the newer version handle is better designed.

Q:Will you eventually upgrade the unit? It is a great idea but the plastic working parts seem to leave it unreliable. Here is my experience with it. The handle started to loosen over time (about 6 mths after install) I would tighten the handle as needed. Reason: The item required more force to flush. Now after one year the cable finally broke. I am quite sure replacing the cable will not fix the underline problem. The good points: I do like that the unit was built to adapt to the existing flapper valve assembly so it was easy to pull out and toss and revert back to the original design using the original flapper valve that I kept just in case this happened. I also kept the fill valve assembly in place as it works great.

A:  If the current toilet uses a flapper system and is not a low profile tank then, I don't why not. I've have not done a single toilet system, were tank and seat are is one piece. So, I can't say this system will.

A:  Hi Stevie011 - The Duo Flush is best used on 2 inch flush valve systems and most Jacuzzi toilets offer a different size or 3 inch flush valve. To ensure that you can use it please measure the diameter of the flush valve drain to get the correct size before purchasing the Duo Flush.

A:  Thank you for the question, the Duo Flush Handle is specific to the Duo Flush Flushing System because the handle has dual action, it can move up and down to start the flushing cycle, where as a standard tank lever can only move downward to start the flushing cycle. The handle is designed to plug into the Duo Flush Actuation Cable Box which it needs to do in order to turn the activating gears and a standard handle cannot do this. At this time the Duo Flush Handle is the only handle that will work with our Duo Flush System.

A:  Just the one included in the kit. It looks much better in real life (the pictures are misplaced/exaggerated). I took it apart in the store to make sure I could live with the looks, and it melds ok with the looks of the toilet (doesn't stand out like in the pictures). Maybe I could upload a picture of what it actually looks like on an actual toilet (probably not).

A:  Probably not. Their lever connects to a valve. It might be possible to adapt an existing lever to operate the valve, but there would be no guarantee of success. The their lever is finished in chrome and looks quite nice, although a bit small. It has markings that show which direction to push for full and half flush, but the markings are so small I only just noticed them when I took it apart to answer your question.

A:  It was very easy to install, if you have basic hand tools and knowledge of how to use them. Read the directions several times to familiarize yourself with them. If you are unsure about any of the steps, make sure you contact someone with plumbing experience to help you or hire a plumber to install it. Most plumbers charge by the hour for non-emergency visits and any competent plumber should be able to install this in 30 minutes or less. I paid $29.95 + tax at my local Home Depot for this unit.

A:  Check with HD for current prices. The unit comes with a large illustrated instruction sheet telling you how to install it. Installation is more complicated than some other types, but that is because the unit will turn an old toilet into a modern water saving unit. I've had mine for 6 months with no problems.

A:  This replaces your existing equipment inside the toilet tank. If what you have in there isn't working, this will probably work since it's a replacement unit for what's already in the tank. Was easy to follow instructions for install. I got mine as part of the Home Depot Seeds program so I am not sure how much it costs. Good luck!
