          Q:what does induction mean?

          Answer This Question

A:  Induction cooktops use a magnetic field to heat the cooking vessel, instead of conventional stoves that heat an element then transfer that heat to the cooking pot/pan. Much more efficient and quicker. I can bring a pot of water to a boil in 2 minutes. Safer for use around children as stove top cools much more quickly. You will love it! However your cookware must have bottoms that are strongly attracted to a magnet. I had to get new cookware!

A:  Hello, Lin. Induction cooking uses electric currents to directly heat pots and pans through magnetic induction. Instead of using thermal conduction (think gas or electric), induction heats the cooking vessel itself almost instantly. A:  Changing the heat on the elements is virtually instantaneous. When I hard boil eggs I put on highest setting, it starts boiling in about a minute, then I turn heat down to a medium setting to continue simmering for the 10 minute duration for pertectly cooked hard boiled eggs. You will have to see what actual settings you will need with the cookware you have. But you will love induction!

                  by|May 27, 2020

A:  Yes they can. The burners control heat very well and with power to boil water quickly.

A:  Yes, special cookware is needed. It needs to be magnetic for the induction to work. Lots of reviews on line for what works best.
