Q:How would you seal the tracks on the side of double hung windows (the tracks that the side of the window slides through when you raise and lower it) people say to use v seals, but is that sufficient enough to fill the space?

Answer This Question
A: It is difficult to say what is best to use to seal the sides of your window without knowing if your windows are old wood sash or if they are vinyl clad or if they are aluminum frame. One fix all is to use a foam tape and seal the side of the window against the frame. The issue then is that the window would not be used. V-seal will work on the inside of the track against the sash, if it is an older wood window.

Q:Can this work on a bottom double paned window if you want to be able to open it? I was asking a NYC Home Depot associate about products to keep flying insects out of my apartment but this may not have been what they suggested. I forget now.

Q:is it appropriate to seal vents on ceilings?

Answer This Question
A: It is ok to do so, if you are not using the room where vents are located.

A: Probably not. It may be adaptable to that function but I would estimate that it would not be efficient and in the long run, not effective. The v seal needs to have a good clean surface to stick to on one side and it is rather narrow.

Answer This Question
A: Hi, Maybe some people don't need as much and maybe Home Depot, based on their customer sales, decided not to carry the product in bulk and/or maybe this brand doesn't come in a bulk roll. I just bought what I needed. Have you contacted Home Depot customer service to ask?

A: Maybe this was a computer glitch? I just ordered another one...although I didn't go all the way through and pay for it...and the site seemed to be willing to let me order it. I bought it a couple of months ago and had no problems.

A: I bought this online and picked up in store... maybe it’s only in select areas. I’ve noticed that on items not carried in my area, it will look like that too. It shows that I can buy it online for store pickup.

A: I live in a mobile home in Derry, NH and have this weather strip tape used with my portable air-conditioner that I purchased at
Home Depot last year. I have left my a/c unit in the window so far all thru this below zero cold weather and all is good; even against
the strong gusts of wind and wind chill factors. So, Mike, so far so good for me and a small investment.........happy shopping

A: Sorry, I don't know. It ws available on line when I ordered it.
by|May 5, 2023
A: I ordered it on line and it was delivered to the store for pick up. However, I don't think the quality is as good as it was in the past as it does not stick as well. It used to be available in the stores.
by|May 5, 2023
A: I agree. It should be in all of the stores.
by|May 5, 2023
A: It is not in all stores and if you are trying to order from a part of the country where it is not carried in the store, sometimes their system will not allow you to order online.
