Q:To drain the unit with a garden hose does it require a 5/8's or 3/4" hose

Answer This Question

A:  It doesn?t matter. They all have the standard size thread. You can even use 1/2? house and it?s cheaper

by|May 1, 2023

A:  Hi BobW, I am pretty sure you will find the threaded connection to be universal no matter the diameter of the hose you connect. Also, large diameter hose is unnecessary since the output is just a steady drip while running.

A:  Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us. This unit can be drained continuously using a standard 5/8" garden hose. We hope you choose this great model for your home. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA

A:  Hello - Great question! This dehumidifier model does not have a built-in pump. There are two ways to remove collected water. You can use the bucket, or use a hose (sold separately). A:  Had same issue.  Instead of routing to a sump, I directed the pump hose along the basement wall to the floor drain.  Worked well all summer.  Make sure you keep the filter clean to avoid unnecessary system shutdown due to Filter Alarm.

A:  That's a great question! The built-in pump makes things more convenient. It allows water to be drained to any location up to 16 feet away. Should you have any additional questions, please reach out to us!- Kianna@GEA

A:  We used the pump when it was in a room with no drain. We had to run it through another room to get to the drain & the pump did that.

A:  Check the bucket .  It can be installed slightly crooked enough to initially start then vibration cause the disconnect.  Bucket has to be properly installed or it will shut down thinking it’s full even though you have a hose attached.  I sometimes have to basically slam the bucket in.

A:  I had the same issue on a different dehumidifier and some sort of slime was blocking the drain hole back a little ways into the dehumidifier. I have to clean the slime out every 1-2 years.

A:  As long as there is decent air flow, one unit is fine. I have a 1200sf house and I have one unit and it works fine (the bathroom is more humid than the rest of the house).

A:  go with 2 smaller units as 1 may freeze up on you.

                                        by|Jan 10, 2023

A:  Well, it really depends on the layout of the mobile home. If it is an open floorplan, this will work great, but if there are lots of different rooms, or rooms where doors are mostly kept shut, having several smaller units would be better. This certainly does keep up with humidity though. One final thought, you do have to manually empty this unit when it is full. They make a different model that has a built in pump that will expel the collected water outside, or to a larger container, once full. In high humidity seasons, you can expect to empty this at least once a day. Hope his helps!

A:  Hello there! Thank you so much for asking this great question! When using the NS (Non-Stop mode) the dehumidifier will run continuously and will not shut itself off unless the water bucket is full. If you choose to use a hose for continuous draining, then the unit will dehumidify the room until manually deactivated. We hope this information is helpful, and if you ever have additional questions, please contact us. Warm regards – Matthew@GEA

A:  I think the unit is great. But it has one drawback you can't manually set the humidity level. If you could then I would sure try at 20%. If someone out there knows how let us know!
