Q:Are these approved for use in pressure treated wood?
by|Mar 7, 2023

Answer This Question

A:  Hey Bob, you'd need to get confirmation from local code just to be sure but staples used in pressure treated wood need to be stainless steel. These do not meet those requirements, though we do have stainless steel staples in our Briscon staple line(SN40BSS25 and SN40IBSS20). Hope this helps!

A:  Yes you can although 1/2" staples will work better for 12/2 wire

          by|Jan 14, 2022

A:  I don't know if you can use them for 12/2. I removed the nails from the plastic & inserted them the opposite way to make them work for my project. Hope this helps.

            by|Jan 14, 2022

A:  Hi, you could use these for 12/2 but at that point it wouldn't be UL rated for the application. Though we do have 1/2" staples(part # PS-225BG) that is UL rated for 12/2. Hope this helps!

A:  If you were asking about this specific 1/2" staple it would be rated for 1 10/2 cable and 1 to 2 12/2 or 14/2 cable. Hope this helps!

A:  we used Gardner Bender 1/2 in. Plastic Staple (225-Pack) for mine.

A:  Great product, flexible and fits right for the needs, say it holds one coaxial cable and another ethernet cable together for one piece.

A:  Staple shown is really only for a single cable. They will how ever hold two, but there is no plastic guide to retain the lower cable. This can lead to damaged cables ( crushed, cut, or twisted). Any of these have possible short term and/or long term potential for problems (short, open or even fires). There are multi cable wire management retainers. Much less available.

A:  The size, i.e. 1/2" or 3/4", refers to the width of the staple opening. These 1/2" staples are perfect for 12/2 or 14/2 Romex. You can stack two cables, one cable on top of the other, and these staples will still work fine. If you have 3 or more cables to run together, the Gardner Bender multi-cable staple, model MCS-20W, Home Depot store sku 505702, HD internet # 100346576, work well. These allow you to run multiple cables while still keeping them positioned along the middle of the stud. The 3/4" staples are good for the 12/3 and 14/3 flat cables, or the 10/2 and 10/3 flat cables.
