Q:Can these be installed over horizontal Hardiplank with shims or does the Hardi have to be removed?
    by|Oct 14, 2022

    Answer This Question

A:  GenStone can be installed over any flat structural surface. As long as the adhesive will contact the substrate and the fasteners will secure into a strong backing, you should be good to go right over the existing siding.

        Answer This Question

A:  Our panels are attached with deck screws and construction adhesive on the back of each piece in an "S" pattern. If you're going to install over concrete or stucco, we suggest using tapcon screws. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions.

            Q:How about for a 4x4 post?

            Answer This Question

A:  If your post is 4 inches x 4 inches I would suggest our pillar panels rather than the outside corner. The pillar panel is designed for an 8 inch square post, so you would just need to fur it out with wood strips. The corner panel is designed for a 17 inch x 17 inch column.

            by|Jun 25, 2022

A:  You could cut them down to fit around a 4x4 but you would need to paint the new exposed edges.  It wouldn’t be cost effective in my opinion.  You would have a lot of waste material.

Q:What are the dimensions of each corner piece. Description says 12x24 but it wraps around the corner so what is the lateral length of each unit. Is one side 8? and the other 4? or what. Thanks

                Answer This Question

A:  The smaller portion is 6 inches and the wider side is 12 inches. The coverage height is actually 22.50 inches because it is meant to be used with two of our panels which are 11.25 inches tall. Feel free to give us a call if you have any other questions.

                  Answer This Question

A:  Yes, but you would need to fur the post out to 17 inches square. For 36 inches tall, you would need 8 corners, 4 per row and 2 tall.

                    Answer This Question

A:  Your best choice for this project would be to use the 42" x 12" panel and miter the connections. It's easy to do with a table saw and you can conceal the raw cuts with our eXact color caulking and paint.
