Q:I want to confirm that the silver Hamilton tile labeled "clear" means that there is a coating to inhibit rust and that the same style labeled "unfinished" would need to be coated so that it would not rust. I want a silver tile to nail to my bathroom ceiling. Thank you.

          Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in our Great Lakes tin Hamilton Lay-In Ceiling Tile in Clear. Yes, our clear tiles are manufactured with a thin protective sealant on them in order to inhibit rust/weathering over time. However, direct exposure to water or moisture may still cause a slight break down over time but the Clear finish tiles will be more protected than our Unfinished options. Please let us know if you have any additional questions at 800.434.3750. Thank you!
