The interlocks would keep the foam tiles together and they would not buckle, providing a 1/2" space is left for expansion (with a wall to wall installations). However, since you have experienced a mold problem in the area, we would recommend one of our interlocking raised tiles such as our Max Tile Vinyl Interlocking Raised Modular Floor Tile (model # MAXTMAP26) or our StayLock Orange Peel PVC Interlocking Basement Floor Tile (model # STLOP12X12GRY26).
