A: Hi patsy2sweet, it looks like this 9 ft. x 12 ft. 0.7 mil Drop Cloth is a store exclusive item and only able to be bought in a Home Depot store. Unfortunately we do not sell it with online stock for purchase. If you are unable to see the store inventory or price it is most likely either not a stocked item in your area or no longer available for purchase from Homedepot.com. I would advise you visit or contact your local Home Depot store for pricing and availability. Thanks for shopping Home Depot!

A: No. I don’t think so. Its very thin amd only meant to protect from a paint/ liquid spill. Any movement on it would tear it.

A: There are too many variables to make a recommendation on the application you have suggested. Please contact your local Home Depot store for further assistance.

A: It is a thin layer of plastic with no adhesive to keep it in place. A better product would be carpet protection with a self adhesive film. It works very well especially against any moisture

Answer This Question
A: You cannot as this is already a case type form. These rolls are also sold in packs of two or even just one. This is like a contractor pack and is a good price for the amount of overall coverage it provides.

A: Yes. I used them as a tarp outside over some furniture and they held up over heavy rain and wind.
I also used them on the floor in my garage to keep any water coming into the garage away from the bottom of the furniture I had stored there.

Q:I currently am using this as an additional layer over a large window in the room in which I will winter over my plants. It was a very affordable option, and being slightly opaque does not matter in this application, but I wanted to be sure there is no UV filtration occuring before I get too far into this midwest winter. Any information would be helpful.

A: Poly-America is correct. 1 mil is 1/1000 of an inch. 1 mil does not mean 1 millimeter.

A: The mil. is the thickness the more mils.the more thickness would make it more difficult to see through. I wouldn’t refer to it as frosted but I can see your point. Sure hope that helps.

A: In practical terms, the thickness of the plastic translates into durability, transparency, and weight. We use 0.7 mil plastic for hanging barriers, covering furniture or shrubs, and catching debris (almost like a giant plastic bag). We use 2 mil plastic when something might pierce a thinner plastic, or someone might walk on it for a short period of time. We use 4 mil plastic when it will be walked on for a long time (extended projects, such as covering the floor while painting something in the garage). The thicker the plastic the less transparent and more translucent it tends to be.

A: 2 mil is literally .002 inches. The thicker these products get the more opaque they are.

Q:The main reason I'm asking is because a friend recently used this as a raised garden bed liner for growing vegetables and herbs, so I want to ensure that it's safe for this application.
More specifically, does this plastic cover leach any toxic chemicals when worn, including polycarbonate/bisphenol A, polystyrene/styrene, or PVC/polyvinyl chloride/phthalates?
Thanks!
