Q:Can you use gravel instead of sand inside the bottom of the fire pit? I'm worried the ashes will get mixed in with sand and make it hard to clean.

                          Q:The instructions state that the capacity of the fire pit is 5 lbs. of fuel. Two pieces of split firewood could be over 5 lbs. Is the 5 lbs. recommendation correct (maybe 5kg/11lbs)? If not, how many split/seasoned pieces of firewood does this hold?

                          A:  It's not how much it will hold, it's how hot the fire gets. If you pack it and burn for long periods, the grate will fail sooner than it normally would.

                              A:  We have used as many as 4-5 when starting our fire. Then we have added several more. I don't think 5 lbs is correct. We have had many fires and using/adding multiple logs is never an issue.
