    Answer This Question

A:  James, we do not recommend the application of Henry 201 over Henry Pond Patch. You can use Henry 107 Asphalt Emulsion which is the recommended coating for Pond Patch. If you do apply Henry 107 be sure and give the 208R a few day to a week to cure.

Q:Can it be used on a mobile home roof
      by|Apr 10, 2024
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Allen, Henry 201 can be used on a mobile home roof if the roof is metal or roll roofing. Henry 201 is not meant to be used over shingles of any kind. Henry 201 is a solvent based asphaltic roof coating. Henry 201 is used as a protective coating but is black in color. For mobile homes you would be better suited using Henry 555 Fibered Aluminum or Henry 869 Rubberized Aluminum. Both aluminum coatings form a tough, reflective, weathering surface.

Q:what product would you recommend on older rolled asphalt roof?
        by|Mar 6, 2024
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Frank, the right roof coating to use depends on what you want the coating to accomplish. Henry 201 Fibered Black Roof Coating is a re-saturate product that is solvent based. It is a penetrating protective roof coating formulated to provide a tough, durable weather resistant film to protect existing roofs in good condition. If you want to cool the roof or the interior of the structure you can use an acrylic white coating or even an aluminum like Henry 555 or Henry 869 or a silicone roof coating like Henry 887 TropiCool 100% Silicone. Both Henry 869 and Henry 887 are waterproof coatings that have long warranties.

          Answer This Question

A:  Steve, Henry 201 Fibered Asphalt Roof Coating can be used on metal roofs. Make sure to seal all leaks before Henry 210 is applied. Application rate is 1.5 to 2 gallons per 100 square feet, be sure not to over apply. Do not apply is there is a threat of rain within 24 to 48 hours.

Q:I have a flat tar roof (I think its tar because its black and softens with heat) with 1/4" alligatoring. I'd like to recoat my entire roof. Would the 201 be the right choice? Should I fill the alligatoring prior to 201 coating?
            by|Feb 2, 2024
            1 Answer
            Answer This Question

A:  Jole, you should repair the deep cracks on your tar roof in the 3-course patch method illustrated on the can label with Henry 204 Plastic Roof Cement and Henry 181 or 183 fabric. Once the deep cracks are repaired you can coat the roof with Henry 107 Asphalt Emulsion. Because the "flood coat" of hot asphalt is inherently unstable (that is, it softens and flows somewhat when it is very hot) there is the chance that even a substantial coating like 107 asphalt emulsion will also alligator when this happens. The application of Henry 107 Asphalt Emulsion requires that the temperature stay above 50 degrees day and night for 24 to 48 hours and have no threat of rain for 24 hours after it is applied. Henry 204 Plastic roof cement should not be coated over with Henry 107 for 30 days.

Q:Can 201 be applied with a Graco paint sprayer to flat rolled roofing?

                Answer This Question

A:  Louis, Henry 201 is a fairly thick bodied coating that requires heavy duty spray equipment. A common paint sprayer will not have the ability to spray 201. Your best bet is to apply Henry 201 with a roofing brush.
