A: Should work fine to seal the leak. Allow the product to cure 4 to 6 hrs for an added degree of assurance.

A: I would lean more towards our Epoxy Putty like Oatey Fix it Stick. These type products are considered a temporary fix until the pipe can be replaced properly.

A: Yes, it is on of the excellent uses. If the crack is larger then a 1/4" wide I would suggest a backing for the sealant for the sealant.

A: Yes, BUT:
DWV Cast Iron
• The customer has to clean all surface dirt / debris and oils from the pipe surface. They must also take a wire brush and clean inside the crack and the outside surface where the plastic seal will be applied to the surface.
• This patch will only stop water migration. It is not intended to recreate the strength of the pipe. If the pipe is severely cracked, the possibility of collapse is present and the pipe section should be cut out and replaced.
DWV Plastic
• I would not recommend plastic seal for this application. One should probably cut the section of pipe out and replace, or use plastic poxy.
DWV Copper
• Copper doesn’t crack
