Q:I've measured the wall behind the toilet, it's about 3/8" wider than 36". What to do? If I cut that much off the shelf it will leave that end open. However, that opening won't show since it will be snug up against the wall. Is cutting this advisable or will the MDF shred where it's been cut. Also, will someone cut that for me? Thanks for helping.

A: We do not recommend cutting the shelf. If you do it will void the manufacturers warranty.

A: 3/8th is not a large cut. If both ends will hit wall you will be fine.

A: Great shelf. Easy clean. Catch a stud if possible otherwise just watch the weight. On the mounting bar if you can angle it up with 3/8th shim it helps shelf stay perfectly level allowing for weight!

A: Yes, but it is easier to install with a power drill.

A: Yes
by|May 5, 2023
A: Yes, very simple installation process...probably would take a novice DIYer all of 15 minutes.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Yes. But a power drill ensure it stays flush to the wall. Also you need the drill if you use the plastic anchors.

Q:Will these mount on my basement block wall ??

Answer This Question
A: Dear Rich, The shelf is designed for drywall. Please consult your local hardware store for installing the shelf on basement block walls.
by|May 5, 2023
A: The mount system comes with a nylon insert for pressing into a hole. YOu would probably be best served by a masonry specific anchor if that is your wall type. That said, the quality of the shelf was not what I expected. The shelf itself does not flush up to the wall very well. YMMV but it may be a good idea to start with one until you know if the shelf meets you expectations.

A: Yes, this unit can be mounted on a cinder block wall.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Yeah just go into home Depot and ask for help in finding cement or block ancors. Remember you need special drill bit to do this. Start with a small hole and work your way up. I suggest 1/4, 1/2, then the size hole you need. Not as hard as it sounds. If you try using the I size bit it is harder to drill and will dull bit before your done.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Yes you can. You will need to use a concrete drill bit and concrete screws

Q:The shelf comes with 6 screws, and 4 Drywall anchors. However, there are 10 holes on the backplate. Which holes do I screw the screws into and which ones do I screw the Drywall anchors into?
The two middle holes are where my wall stud is.

Answer This Question
A: the best scenario is to hit at least one stud. use all of the drywall anchors. pay attention to the arrow pointing up and use the top row of holes since the weight of the shelf contents will be pulling down.
by|Jan 18, 2019
A: There is no set way, however I would ensure I put screws where my studs where.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Miriam, if you can match up the holes with your wall studs, that should be sufficient. Otherwise, use the wider spread of holes with drywall anchors.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Use the two holes with the stud. That will help and I would use the two top outer holes and two other holes at random
by|May 6, 2023
A: If you have a stud that you can screw it into then you do not have to use any of the wall anchors. As long as its into 2 separate studs and not both in the center. Screwing into a stud will make it more than secure.
