      A:  This thermostat can be used for heat pump with backup electric heat and/or 2nd stage electric heat, or gas fired heat and/or two stage cooling systems. I like my tstat because it has paid for it self within the first year of installation with electricity cost savings.

      A:  I don't know but I can tell you I've never been able to get it to connect to my wireless network and Honeywell has been no help and usually don't answer emails. I wouldn't recommend buying one. I've had no issues connecting or using my Emerson Sensi Thermostat and it works seamlessly with Amazon Alexa.

            A:  It does not show the outside temperature, but if you get the app when you look at it you will see the outside temperature.

            A:  No, this thermostat cannot display outside air temperature. It is not listed how to lock out the heat pump below a set outdoor temperature.

              A:  It shows the outside temperature on the display. It gets the outside temperature via its Internet connection.

                A:  This unit does not show the outdoor temperature. When you view the thermostat on-line, it does show the local outdoor temperature.

                A:  This model is not made for 3 zone systems (heat pump "yes"). Please talk to a Home Depot representative to get their recommendation.

                  A:  In your manual go to - "Advanced Installation"; then go to "System Setup" and set up thermostat per instructions; then go to 0320 Temperature Format (F/C). and follow those instructions. I didn't include page numbers because I'm not sure what manual version you have.

                  A:  Yes-you are able to change display from F to C. Press SYSTEM, Press and hold center blank button until screen changes (abt 5 secs), cycle thru the 4 digit number on left to "0320", select 1 on right for C. These and other option instructions can be found starting on page 20 in the manual. Hope this helps...

                        A:  I hope this will help you. I found this in my booklet under Troubleshooting Red light is on • If thermostat is in Emergency Heat mode the red light is normal. It shows that the thermostat is in emergency heat mode. • If thermostat is not in Emergency Heat mode, contact a qualified service contractor for repair.

                          A:  Hi Bill, thanks for reaching out! When installing a new thermostat, we always recommend replacing the sub-base in addition to the thermostat face-plate. That being said, without knowing what your previous thermostat model is, I can't say for sure if the Honeywell Wi-Fi Programmable Thermostat will completely cover any previous markings or what any warranty information would be. If your previous thermostat was from Honeywell, most of our retail thermostats have a 1 year warranty.                                     A:  This display blanks out after a certain amount of time. To bring it back to life just touch anywhere on the screen. Not very bright once lit.

                                        A:  The display will generally be dim until you touch it. There should be an adjustment for lighting somewhere though. You may want to check the user guide/manual.

                                          A:  It should be bright after being touched. The brightness fades after a few minutes of no use. If not, check the voltage level coming in from the transformer. It should be 24 vac.

                                                A:  The display stays somewhat dim until you touch it, then it lights up for a few seconds, there is a setting to change this feature, but I am not sure it would stay bright for ever, it is designed to be bright enough to see in the dark, but not so bright as to keep one awake. Hope this helps!!

                                                  A:  recheck your wiring. If wired correctly when you touch the display to make adjustments it will get bright. It will automatically get dim after a few seconds of not being touched.

Removed 8580 from wall and removed/installed module(several times) with no luck. Returning this piece of junk.

                                                      A:  Can't help with question but recommend you simply exchange it. We've had no issues and have been very happy with the 'stat. My only issue had been trying to get the window of temps (Hi and Low setting) to work vs setting a single temp. Was user error. Simply missed the spot in the manual.

                                                          A:  Hey NoLuck! If the thermostat is not displaying WiFi Setup on the top of the thermostat, it is possible the WiFi is turned off. To turn the WiFi follow these steps. 1.) Press and Release System 2.) Press and Hold the middle blank box on the bottom of the screen until the display changes. 3.) Tap the down arrow after 0112 until it you reach 290 4.) Press the up arrow on the right to turn the 0 (zero) to a one 5.) Press Done after 30 seconds the thermostat should display WiFi Setup.
