A:  Had this issue when I first bought the Jack. Added hydraulic Jack oil to the piston. Solved the problem. Some of these have been assembled with not enough oil. If you don't want to do the oil add yourself, If you can, return it to Home depot and have them replace it for you. The jack really is a good product otherwise.

A:  check your fluid level - sounds like it may be low

A:  return it for a replacement. It should lift beyond the contact point without any adjustments. brian

A:  Hi; you should check the GVW rating on your vehicle found on the body tag on the door jam. GVW RATING IS TOTAL VEHICLE WEIGHT CAPACITY.

A:  I wouldn't. Buy the larger model. It is much better suited for your needs.

A:  yes. I am using in on several vehicles. Including a Ram 1500, Lincoln Aviator, Dodge Grand Caravan and my Acura. It will lift 2-1/2 tons which is adequate for anything you will need for your Ford. brian

A:  You could lift one corner of your vehicle at a time to change a tire but it won't lift your entire car.

A:  Really don't need it. But mine was broke also. I just crazy glued it back together. worked fine.

A:  the handle is plastic - i have never had one of any brand hold up for a long time - they fail eventually

A:  The best way to handle this is to return it to the store closest to you. If you don't have a store close by then I would call customer service to discuss options due to the weight of this item.-

A:  It has a one year limited warranty, so I would take it back to Home Depot for a replacement. brian

A:  if you have at least an inch and a half of clearance, it should fit. However, it will not lift the car up high enough to get jack stands under it.

A:  The collapsed height is 4.875''.

A:  3 1/2 inches

A:  It will lift from 3-3/8 inches minimum so should fit your 87 Camaro. brian

A:  Make sure the release valve is fully closed. Turn it counter clockwise. Jack should not raise or lift unless valve is closed. If the valve is closed, but the jack does not lift, return it. These are garbage. Mine dropped to inches while holding a load. Almost took off my finger as I was setting a jack stand.

A:  Assuming that you have not reached the maximum lifting height, which I doubt. Then I suggest taking it back or obtaining a warranty claim.

A:  Take the handle out of the receiver and use it on the release valve...a 1/2 inch by 1/4 inch rectangle on the lower left side of the jack as you face the same side the handle goes in to. Turn the valve counter clockwise slowly to release. Then, return this jack to Home Depot. It lowered on me 2 inches while holding a load.

A:  Use the handle provided. There is a small nut on the front face of the jack. Turn the nut and the jack should lower.

A:  Turn the screw on the end next to the handle counterclockwise. Turn it clockwise to raise the jack.

A:  Turn the silver screw to the left of handle input counter clockwise.... slowly. Then turn it clockwise til it stops to raise jack.

A:  There is a small release valve that you need to loosen (to the left of the pump) using the jack handle. Very similar to many jacks of this size.

A:  If I recall, it was 3 1/2" to 14", probably not ideal for a truck or large SUV.

A:  lifting height from 3-3/8 inches to 14-3/8 inch. brian

A:  Yes, 14.375 as stated above. That may not be enough height for a low car with large ( 3-ton or higher ) jack stands.
